Two Fish

I would like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to my sister Heidi for her  interpretation of my acrylic painting “Two Fish,” which is part of my Strange Amusing Creatures series. Her talent in fabric art has truly elevated my modest yet humorous painting, bringing a new dimension and vibrancy to the piece. It is fascinating to see how her unique perspective has transformed the whimsical essence of my painting into something even more engaging.

Dr. Özlem Türeci and Dr. Ugur Sahin

During the pandemic, this married couple developed the COVID vaccine used by Pfizer. Despite being probably among the richest couples in Germany, the two billionaires live with their teenage daughter in a modest apartment near their office. They ride bicycles to work and do not own a car. In Germany, where immigration continues to be a fractious issue, the success of two scientists of Turkish

 descent was cause for celebration.

Two influential figures - Kurt Vonnegut, the self-proclaimed "Christ loving Atheist," and Pope Francis, famously known for his statement "Who am I to judge." Vonnegut, a renowned author and humanist, embraced Christian teachings and ethics despite his rejection of traditional religious beliefs. His perspective challenges us to contemplate the essence of faith and morality beyond formal religious structures. On the other hand, Pope Francis's humility and non-judgmental attitude embody the essence of compassion and acceptance, emphasizing the importance of love and understanding in our interactions with others.

Abstract Portraits and Collages

During the cold winter days I’ve been creating digital collages printing and pasting them onto playing cards. It’s been a fun and challenging creative venture. The process of fitting my collages onto a playing card  has been an interesting exercise in creativity. I am hoping this exercise will help original acrylic paintings.
